January 16, 2021, was an awesome day with showers of blessings, for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Annecy, Bhubaneswar Province. Four Junior Sisters viz. Nirmala Jose, Vimala, Keerthana, and Mary Hyma surrendered their whole life totally to God by making their Perpetual commitment. And also four of our Novices namely Biddika Radha, Jhumuri, Pushpa, and Sushmita Lakra pronounced the evangelical councils of Chastity, Poverty, and Obedience. The delightful and auspicious celebration along with Fr. Prasanna Kumar Pradhan V.G of the same archdiocese. Several priests, parents, relatives, religious men and women, and our well-wishers took part in the celebration. The Scripture readings emphasized God’s call and consecration of our lives to God. Archbishop in his sermon highlighted the faith, commitment, and irrevocable consecration of Mary Mother of God. He exhorted the sisters to take Mother Mary as the model to live their religious commitment in times of adversities, the magnetism of social media, and materialism.

The symbolic offertory during the Eucharist explained the spirit of the young sisters and their desire to follow Christ crucified an aspiration to be in close union with God, further God’s Kingdom in this most unprecedented time of Coronavirus and for all time. It was a grace-filled and memorable day for all who participated in the celebration.
