St Joseph’s Seva Sadan Health Centre, Jokalandi

St. Joseph Seva Sadan Health Center, Jokalandi in collaboration with St. Arnold English Medium School conducted a free medical health camp on 16th September 2018 at Jokalandi for the slum dwellers of the vicinity. Two doctors from nearby super specialty hospitals rented their free service for the medical camp. One was a general physician and the other was a pediatrician. Needless to say that both the doctors were very much service oriented and they rendered their service whole heartedly without any payment. Teachers and students from St. Arnold School were very much at the service all throughout the program along with the students of St. Joseph Seva Sadan Community College students.

The camp began at 9 am with a warm welcome to the Dignitaries of the day with bouquets and gave a formal beginning to the program by cutting the ribbon by our respected chief gust Mr. Harikrishna Mohandi the local municipality cooperator and Fr. Richard Vaz, the Manager of St. Arnold School. To invoke the blessings of the Lord on the day’s program by lighting of the lamp by Mr. Harikrishna the cooperator, Fr.Richard Vaz, Dr.Thapasuni Mishra, Sr. Antonette, one of the student’s representative and by one of the patient’s representative.

There were about 170 patients who benefited from the camp. All the patients who came for the medical checkup received essential medicines free of cost. People were very and were grateful for such a service as most of them cannot afford to have a medical checkup for easily. The checkup came to an end by 2 pm with a lunch for the volunteers and helpers. It was a heart touching experience for all of us especially for the sisters of Jokalandi Community to see large number of people availing the facilities. We are grateful to all who supported this noble mission.
